Toad is not doing good
Toad over the last couple of weeks has been not eating and looks bad. He started feeling bad a couple of weeks ago. He stopped eating dry food about a week ago and Nanci has had to give him water with a syringe. Now tonight we can't find him. We where down stairs watching TV and he came down and meowed. Nanci thought he wanted in to the room with the cat boxes. She took him in there and he didn't act like that is what he wanted. I went up stairs and noticed he had peed on the rug at the bottom of the stairs. Nanci picked it up and followed me up. Then we went back down stairs for a short time. Then Toad and Nanci went up stairs and Nanci was feeding him wet food and Nutircal. She left him to eat at the top of the stairs shut the back door and came down stairs to finish watching a show. We where only down there 5 minutes or so. We grabbed the dirty dishes from supper and headed up stairs. The back door was standing wide open. The wind apparently blew it open. Toad was nowhere to be found. It's about 9:30 PM so of course it's dark out side. We searched the house and the yard, no Toad. He is too weak to jump the fence. But, we looked everywhere inside and out. Nanci is worried sick he just went somewhere to die. I just hope Tina will find him when she get's home tonight.

Nanci receives another job offer
Nanci received another job offer today. She got one a few weeks ago from See's Candy and today she received one from Wild Rose Marketing. They are a brokerage firm in Boulder. She has had a couple of brokering jobs in the past. One with a broker named Carol. Carol started her own firm when she was let go at the one she had worked for, for several years. Then Nanci worked for one called the Pet Firm. She did that while I was working for PetSmart. She has to call Rose back tomorrow and she how much money she is offering. Sure would be nice to have Nanci working here in town again.
My boss, Crystal Dunmire asked me to do some interviewing for a new manager. I love to do interviews! So, that is awesome. This is memorial weekend and last night was pretty out of had at my complex. the police where called to at least 4 apartment. I'm planning on going there tonight to make sure everyone is being quiet.
Tina's work has events every weekend so, I'm going with her tomorrow to see what's happening and to check it out. I think Tina and I will go to Territory Days in Old Town on Sunday. Nanci has to work all weekend.
Lori and the kids (Parker and Kairi, Kairi spent the knight last night) where over today to do laundry like every Friday. They also washed Lori's Durango and Tin's Saab.
Will anyone read this before I die? Or even after I die for that matter?

Kairi's Birthday, Tina's New Job, Nanci's Job Offer!
Kairi had a great Birthday party! I will try to post pics. Nanci and Tina took her to get her hair cut and the next day to get her ears pierced. She looks so cute! Chris was pissed I heard about getting her ears pierced. I have no idea why but, I guess he didn't talk to Lori for 2 days. When we went to their house for the party he barley spoke a work to us. Lori made the cake and it was wonderful. It had a Barbie in it and the cake was her dress. Kairi just seen the new Rapunzel movie "Tangled" so, Lori made a Rapunzel cake. It turned out great! See the photos!

Tina a several interviews over the last 2 weeks and she was offered a position at a mobile home park in Monument CO. It's about a 15 or 20 minute drive from the house. I can't remember the name of it right now. She is working 4pm to 8pm M-F. She calls leads to invite them to a presentation to join the RV park. She likes it so far. She does work with a very large woman that has been there for 10 years and "knows it all". However, Friday was Tina's 3 day and everyone went to the owners house for Dinner when she got to work. The owners house is on the property and only 30 or 40 yards from the building where Tina's office is located. She was able to meet the owners, the cook and a few other people that work there. They even offered her a beer! She is only 20 so had to pass. But, still... what a laid back place! She said they have 4 live bands that are scheduled to play this summer.
Nanci was offered an assistant managers position with See's Candy. It's kind of a weird situation so far. She fist had a phone interview with the DM, then an in person interview with him. Then she had a phone interview with the Regional Manager. Next she had a "meet and greet" with the Store Manager. During all this she had to go shop the store 2 times and report to the DM what she thought. After all that, the DM called her and offered her the position. She said she wanted to talk it over with me and she would get back to him. In the meantime he called Ging as a reference and was unable to get a hold of her old DM from the Body Shop. He then calls Nanci back and said he was having doubts about hiring her. He thought she should have called him back right away after meeting with the Store Manager and seemed upset that he was unable to get in touch with her old DM. Also, he wanted her to call him at 10:30 on Friday morning and she didn't call him right at that time. He was not understanding that she was at work and had to call when she had the chance to. So, he said he would talk to her on Monday. It seems to me he is new at being a DM and is a little overwhelmed.
I read a book my doctor suggested called "The Abs Diet". I have started it about 2 weeks ago and although I don't know how much weight I've lost, I can wear pants and shirts I have not been able to wear in a long time. Also, I feel better and have more energy!

Seeing my mother in dreams...
It first happened about 2 months ago (I think). I had a dream that I was at a house, it was familiar but I didn't recognize it. On the side of the house was a porch like area. I was talking to my mother, I can't remember any of the conversation. She was sitting in a chair. Then Kate, a lady I worked with at PetSmart came waling up and her and my mother started talking. I remember asking "do you to know each other?" They both looked and me and said yes they did. They continued to talk and I walked off to tend to something else.
The next time (that I can remember) was just a couple of weeks ago. I was walking up to the back of the house. The one I grew up in and the one my mom lived in then she died. It was different because there was a covered area attached to the back of the house. There was a bench of some kind that Dick and a couple of other people where working at. I could not see what they where working on they had their backs to me. I watch for a few minutes, they either did not know I was there or just ignored me. When they all of a sudden went into the house I noticed my mother sitting by the bench, on a stool I think. She was not making eye contact with me she was just kind of gazing at the bench. I walked up to her and we hugged. I told her I was sorry and that I thought everyone understood that I was to take care of things (when she died). She said in a very low voice... "So did I, I thought I made it clear". I then heard the phone ring in the house. I started up the steps and inside the door before I realized it had not rang a second time. I turned to go back to mom, she was still sitting there. I can't remember anything after that. I knew I was dreaming and that I wanted to remember it. I woke up, I was hoping to return to the dream when I fell back to sleep. If I did I don't remember it. I still don't feel like there was a message to do anything or take any new action. I can't stop wondering if I was suppose to get something else from it. I'm so pissed at Dick and Patty for pushing me out! It's not fair... we (my mother and I) where so close. She was really close to Nanci and all the kids too. It just sucks!

Physical Today, Ginger Visits, Kairi's First Hike!
So I went in for a physical today. Not bad, but not great either. I'm fat, real fat! I weighed in at 242 lbs. That's fat, especially when I'm 5' 8". Myblood pressure was high today too, 140/98. My BP has always been 125/70. Not anymore. I have to wait 7 to 10 days for the blood tests results. I have a female doctor. She is great, we have been going to her for years. Speaking of years, it's been 3 years since I was there last. Nanci has her physical tomorrow and Tina the next day. We have insurance again.
Ginger showed up last Friday for the weekend. She stayed Friday through Monday. Nanci had to work everyday of course. I had Saturday and Sunday off. We took Ginger to Rainbow Falls in Manituo then lunch. Kairi loved hanging out with Ginger.

Sunday we went for a hike at Spruce Mountain Open Space. It sits between Larkspur and Monument. The full hike is 5.5 miles. We had Kairi with us so we took a short route to the top of the mountain. This was the first hike for Kairi so, we where not too sure how she would do. She had energy the whole way! She loved hiking. We are planing on taking her again next week.

First cookout of the year!
Wow, great weather today, up in the 70's. Nanci had the day off. Her and Tina went shopping with Lori and the kids. Then I met them at a park by my work for lunch. Earlier Kairi through up at Target and they had to buy her a new outfit. She was fine most of the afternoon then laid down about 7 and she was down for the night.
I arrived home from work to find that Nanci had the cushions out on the outdoor furniture and an ice bucket full of beer. We sat out side for an hour or so and talked and enjoyed the weather. Kairi was here and had a great time playing in the dirt. Then Chris, Lori, Matt and Parker showed up with burgers and hot dogs. We had a great cookout. Can't wait for the weather to get warm so we can cookout every night again.
Time to go sit in the hot tub!

Cars all going again
Finally have all the cars running again! Garry needed a new battery and a tune up. The Benz needed 2 fuel pumps, yep 2. I had no idea they had 2 fuel pumps. They are not cheap either, I got a deal at almost $300 each! The best part is that Hutch fixed my heater fan for free! Not having heat in the winter really sucks.
Kairi spent the night last night and I planned on getting more video to post but, that didn't happen. Maybe next time. We went to a great new ice cream place last called Glacier Ice Cream. Here is a photo of Kairi with her baby cone!
Nanci is feeling much better and almost over the crud. She is getting motivated to get her staff of to speed. I'm looking forward to helping her.
I have a management blog that I started over a year ago. I have not take the time to do anything with it though. I get home and just don't feeling like doing anything... it sucks.

Nanci is back!
Again I didn't write all week.
Nanci is home from her trip to GA. Her flight going out was great. However, the return flight didn't go as planned. Her plane left Atlanta on time and was scheduled to land in the Springs at 8:45 pm. The flight app I have on my iphone said the flight was early and would land at 8:13 pm. So, Tina and I arrived at the airport at about 8 o'clock and parked in the "Cell Phone Waiting Area" Well at 8:40 or so we gave up on that app and went online with my phone and went to the Delta Airlines website. The site showed that the arrival was delayed twice and then re-routed. It's now about 9 o'clock. I called the 800 number for the airline and they said the plan was unable to land because of ground conditions (it was foggy) and the plan was in Denver and would return to the Springs at 11:30 pm. OK, now it's 9:30 and Tina and I headed home for a couple of hours. Nanci called as we where leaving the airport and while I was talking to her (she is sitting in the plan on the runway in Denver) they announced they would shuttle them to the Springs on a bus. Tina and I went home and had something to eat and hung out for a while. Nanci called at midnight or so and said they are on the bus. Tina and I went to my work to kill some time placing towing stickers on cars illegally parked in my lot from the bar. The bus finally got to the Springs airport at 1:11 am. Nanci had to work the next day from open to close. She was not feeling well either, she had a bad cold. I was off the next day and took her to work. She was feeling worse by noon and left at 2:30 to go home. She went strait to bed and slept for several hours. That was last night. She felt a little better today. She had to open this morning. It's Sunday and I usually take her to work on Sunday's and hang out at the library in Castle Rock. That is where I'm at now. The store closes at 6.
Lori, Chris and the kids (except Lemon Head he was at other grandmas) came to our house to wash clothes yesterday. I got to spend some time with the kids. Kairi was being cute (as usual) and I have a couple of videos of her talking to me. My phone will not let me email them because they are too big. So, if I can get them off my phone I'll post them here.

13 Days later...
Wow, can't believe it's been 13 days since I was on here last. The weather is back to normal, 50's and 60's. Gary still not running. Chris and I have both tried to get him going. I guess I'll have to tow it to Hutch's place to have it fixed.
Kairi is spending the night. She has been pretty moody lately. So much so she acts like she is poses est! Cute little girl turns into a monster. All of Lori's kids where sick this week.
Matt had a play at school last Sunday.. It was very nice, the kids all did a great job.
My left arm and elbow are still sore from my altercation with a guy at work last Friday.
Nanci is going to Atlanta GA on Monday for work. She will be returning on Friday. It's going to be a long week, I'm going to miss her.
My Dad sent me pic of himself today. I'll share it here...

Garry won't start!
We have a car named Garry (from the Sponge Bob cartoon, Garry the snail) and he refuses to start. He was working just fine and didn't start when the temp dropped down to -16 2 days ago. Tried jumping him yesterday and he cranks over but, won't start.
Wow, this really make your life seem pretty boring when you just lived a couple of days and can't come up with anything to write about!

Cold to the bone!
We had a great weekend! We stayed in Delta CO. Nice room and only $50 a night. We ate dinner at great Mexican restaurant. The next day, Sunday we drove down to Ouray CO and did a little shopping. Then we went to the south end of town in the canyon to watch the ice climbers. That was very cool. We took pics, I'll try to get some on here.
The weather has been dam cold here. Yesterday the wind blew about 40 mph. The temp was -13 and windchill of -35! Today the high was about 8. Should be 40 tomorrow.
I talked to my Dad on the phone this afternoon! I need to get out to see him again soon. We all enjoy spending time with him. He is just like me (maybe it's the other way around) we both love telling stories and find what most people do, pretty dam funny!
Lori started a new blog CLICK HERE to go check it out!

Everyday Right?
OK, OK, so I said I would write everyday, well I am lucky to write a couple of times a week! Pretty sad, I know.
Nanci has a three day weekend this week. So, she made reservations in a hotel for tomorrow night in.... I can't remember! Some town by Montrose CO. Nanci, Tina and I are leaving in the morning for the western slope. Not sure just what we are going to do yet. Have an adventure! Looking forward to just being somewhere different tomorrow.
I'm loving my new iphone. I think today was the first day I didn't run the battery dead by 5pm.
Received an offer to pay off an old credit card that we owed $3K on for only $1K. Paid it yesterday. Few more things to still get paid off. It will feel so good to be debt free!

Turtle Attack!
Well all went well with AT&T and we received our phones on Tuesday. I have been trying to decide weather to port my old number over to the new phone or not. Nanci and Tina are not going to. I have had the same cell number for 12+ years. So, maybe it's time for a change. I need to tell Verizon tomorrow to cancel or port my number. Nanci was not too happy with her new phone so, we are going to exchange it tomorrow.
Kairi spent the night last night and the night before. She is always fun to have around! Nanci took Kairi shopping for some new fish for the fish tank. She said the turtles at the pet store scared the hell out of Kairi. What kid is afraid of turtles?
Nanci, Tina, and I went to dinner at Red Robbin tonight. They pretty much screwed up our entire order. They fixed it though and gave us a 50% discount.
The pay at my job sucks. It's half of what I was making at PetSmart. I need to find a venture to make some more income. I'm not coming up with any ideas.

For Fuck Sake, He's Still Alive!
Nice weather today! It reached the upper 50's I think. Nanci had the day off. We cleaned the hot tub and the fish tank. I swept the driveway off of all the dirt from the snow melting off the car. Cleaned out some of the empty boxes in the garage and loaded up a pile of stuff that was garage sale leftovers. Needed to get the cars washed, maybe tomorrow. It's should get up to 60 tomorrow.
Matthew went a little crazy on Friday. He was at our house, Lori and the kids came over to do laundry. Matthew has never wrote on any walls or furniture. That has just not ever been an issue with him. However, on Friday he went off the deep end and wrote on tables, chairs, walls, etc... in our basement. Guess he was mad at someone or something. I had a talk with him about how to handle being upset and how not too. I can only hope some of it sinks in.
On Saturday we ordered our iphones! Our plan with Verizon ends this month on the 22nd. I wanted to order them just before Christmas because they had some great deals. But, I had to wait until Nanci got paid on the 15th. Of course the phones we wanted then where out of stock. We ordered them online because we wanted the 32GB and they where only available as refurbished. The AT&T site advertises free overnight shipping! However, after I placed my order (which was a complete hassle and had to get some online attendant to help) I received an email stating that in order to avoid identity theft I needed to call some 800 number to verify my identity. So, I call and guess what? There hours are M-F 9 to 5. I have to wait until Monday to call.
Last night Nanci, Tina, Lori, and I went to McCabes Pub to see Biff Morehead (we worked with him at the Zoo). He had his second annual "For Fuck Sake, He's Still Alive" party. He is a cancer survivor. He is looking good. Last time we seen him he was getting pretty thin an looking very old. He is in his fifty's. He was looking like his old self again. Also, there was band playing called Young Austin and No Difference. Wow, can this kid play guitar! It was an unforgettable experience! He is only 15 and plays Jimmy Hendrix and Stevie Ray Von. He played several of his own songs as well. Here is a link to a video of a blues competition he played in, in Memphis TN. He got off the stage and walked through the audience playing and out the front door on the the street several times. He laid his guitar on people's tables and used catchup bottles as a slide and played. He was just awesome! I talked to his mother for a few minutes, he has a new CD coming out in a few weeks! Also, there was this old black man that showed up at about the third song. He started dancing and danced every song the rest of the night. How ironic, this skinny old black man dancing his ass off to some kick ass blues guitar played by some 15 year old white kid! This kid got a well deserved standing ovation from the whole bar. We bought his CD and Nanci talked to him for a little bit and got the CD signed. There is some great young blues talent in the town. There is another kid (18 years old) that plays the blues named Grant Sabin. He plays every Wednesday night at Nosh. He plays what I would call front porch blues. He has quite a few videos on youtube.com as well.
Pat Carter treated us to dinner tonight. We went to Golden Corral, and ate too much.

Hot Tub, Cigars and Drinks!
We had a cold front for the past few days. The high was only in the teens for 2 days in a row. We had very little snow, that's good. Nanci had yesterday off. She rearranged the house, it looks great. I like it when she does that. I just makes the house fell new and fresh. So, last night we lit a fire in the fire pit and sat in the hot tub when I got home from work. Then we stood around the fire pit and had cocktails and smoked a cigar. Very nice evening.
Kairi is spending the night tonight! She is just a kill!
Wow, just heard some glass break. Turns out the flood light above the kitchen sink just exploded, there is glass everywhere on the counter and in the sink. Nanci is closing tonight and Tina is making dinner. This computer is soooo slow. I can't wait to buy a Mac laptop!

Tina's Brithday and Dead Man
Yesterday was Tina's 20th Birthday. I can't believe she is 20! She needs to get her ass in school. She didn't have a very good day yesterday. She was a little grouchy. We had planned on going out for dinner last night. Nanci and Tina where not in very good states so, we stayed home. I felt bad that Tina had a crappy day. We ordered her a couple of things for her birthday and have to wait for them to get here. We are going to try to go to dinner tonight. We are going to a new place called Cheddar's.
Yesterday at work one of my tenants died. A couple of months a go an old couple rented 2 one bedroom apartments. She claimed he was killing her (mentally and emotionally) so they rented 2 places. Here apartment is on the first floor and his is on the second floor. Yesterday afternoon about 4 an installer for either the phone company or cable company was walking by is apartment and seen him lying on the floor through the window. Looks like it was a heart attack. I guess God gets first choice so he picks the quiet one and leaves the loud annoying one.
Today Tina said Kairi was running around the house singing "I go to Church for the easy chicks" Lyrics of song by a local band called SkyFox. She's so cool.
I'm going to finish my glass of wine and go to dinner.

Shopping in Boulder
Today Nanci, Tina, Kairi and I went to Boulder. We spend a few hours on Perl Street shopping. We went to a yogurt shop for a snack and headed back to the Springs. Then we had dinner and a movie at Lori's. Then Pat Carter came over to have me show him how to convert some images files. It's back to work tomorrow. It was nice having 3 days off 2 weeks in a row.
Lori baked her first loaf of bread today! It looked and tasted great! She called and wanted me to email her the recipe. I was driving in Boulder at the time. I have made this bread some many times I have it memorized. Here it is:
Bake 350 Degrees 35 minutes or until golden brown.

1-1-11 Today
Nanci had to work today. So, I took here and planned on spending the day at the library in Castle Rock. Unfortunately the library was closed. I spent a couple of hours online in a coffee shop. But, it closed at 2. I spent the next few hours at Nanci's store until they closed at 6. So, pretty boring day in Castle Rock.
The weather was better today, still cold though. Kairi is spending the night again tonight. We are going to try to go to Boulder tomorrow again. Looking forward to that!
The UPS man is bringing a La Cloche on Monday. We back most of our own bread. We have been using a dutch oven, which works very well. We ordered 2 La Cloche's to back bread in. If I get a chance I'll post pics of our loaves.. they are pretty nice.
Chris's Dad was in ICU today for a while. They decided he has 4 strokes! They moved him to his own room later and Matthew told me he was coming home tomorrow?
